We are introducing a new title sequence and graphics. A composition of a wild lion walking in Le Corbusiers Villa Savoye to the tune ”Sweetheart” by Suicide.

    Stockholm Design Lab wins gold in Eurobest

    Europe’s leading awards and annual event for advertising and creative communications Eurobest is held in Lisbon, Portugal. With over 200 entries, competing with Johnny Walker, Chivas, Kroneburg amongst others small Sake manufacturer Ohmine Shuzou wins Gold. The unique bottle and brand designed by Stockholm Design Lab has once again shown the power of simplicity.
    Takeshi Akiyama CEO of Ohmine Shuzou says ”We wanted to design and brew a sake that overthrows conventions and weaves in an international perspective,gathered together. Although at a small-scale production level of 5,000 liters a year, we were able to perfect a sake that brings out the blessings of nature. While preserving the traditions inherited from our predecessors, we will aim to present cutting edge ideas without being bound by customs. And, from Mine City, Yamaguchi, we will transmit the ”Ohmine” brand to the world”.

    SDL designing money

    The Swedish National Bank (Riksbanken) has completed the first stage of the competition to design the new swedish banknotes and coins. Out of 46 contestors SDL is still in the competition and will next year present a proposal on how the future´s money will look like.

    Identity for Copenhagens new landmark

    Today Bella Sky (part of Comwell) opens and will be Scandinavia’s largest hotel. It creates a distinct new profile on the Copenhagen skyline with the architecture of 3XN. The two towers reach up to 76,5 meters, and lean out 15 degrees. See the new identity here.

    New identity for Royal College of Music

    KMH is one of the oldest and most prestigious music colleges in Sweden. We are very proud of the new visual identity which has been developed by Stockholm Design Lab and was launched on May 5 at their current premises. The new visual identity will be matched in a couple of years with a complete re-make of the college, including a new main building. This surely makes out a clear and exciting take-off for KMH’s journey ahead.

    Unibail Rodamco, Täby Centrum

    Täby Centrum, one of the largest shopping centers in Sweden, will become even larger! A big reconstruction project has started, including a new exterior and interior look and feel to the establishment, expanding vending space, new parking facilities etc. The new center will be completed by 2015. Stockholm Design Lab are very proud to be taking part in this exciting project, creating a new visual identity for the new Täby Centrum.

    Vårdapoteket

    Vårdapoteket is a new Swedish pharmacy chain always placed in care-related locations. Stockholm Design Lab was appointed as their design agency and are now finalising a project including a new visual identity and retail concept which will start to roll out summer/fall 2011.

    Spritmuseum is the new name for Vin- och Sprithistoriska Museet who is currently constructing its new home in a beautiful location in Kungl. Djurgården, Stockholm. The moving-in date is set to spring 2012. In addition to the new name, we are developing a visual identity platform for the new museum.

    Åhléns

    It has been 13 years since Stockholm Design Lab developed the current visual identity for Åhléns. We are now very excited to having re-bonded with Åhléns. Our work focuses on revitalizing the visual identity, creating a consistent expression for their range of private label products and in-store communication plus developing a distinct and direct identity for Åhléns Klubb. In addition to this we are also working on a new retail project in cooperation with TEA.

    Marble 4420

    For the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011, Monica Förster and Björn Kusoffsky have been invited to make their personal interpretation of Svenskt Tenn.

    Using the pattern Marble 4420 by Josef Frank as a starting point. The Marble 4420 pattern, which is radically different from the typical Frank flowery patterns, is said to have been sketched when Josef Frank had encountered the art of Jackson Pollock, during this stay in New York in the 1940s. Designer Monica Förster and creative director Björn Kusoffsky have been inspired by the pattern to create a 3D installation with handmade artifacts and a film which explores the depths of Josef Frank’s world of patterns.

    SDL is part of Tokyo Graphic Passport

    The annual creative conference “Tokyo Graphic Passport 2010″ that features the themes of “Think, Touch and Talk” was held on September 23rd-29th with exhibition of Graphic designs, Photographs, Illustrations, and Motion graphics. The creative conference was held at Kudan Kaikan and is quickly becoming one of the world’s most anticipated creative events. Read more.

    New identity for Hemtex

    On August 26th 2010, Hemtex launched a new flagship store at Götgatan in Stockholm. Stockholm Design Lab together with TEA have developed a whole new visual identity, webb and an updated retail concept for the brand and have also been deeply involved in the new assortment strategy. After vast research with the customers, Hemtex is now focusing on a younger target group with a modern, inspiring and praiseworthy concept. Hemtex history, Swedish textile heritage together with knowledge and creativity have been important inspiration in the extensive work. The new concept supported by an advertising campaign will be rolled out from now on.
