Spritmuseum – Grand Opening May 24th

Museum, art gallery, tasting room, meeting-place, bar, restaurant and open-air café. On May 24, Spritmuseum opens at Galärskjulen on Djurgården in Stockholm, with three exhibitions intended to entertain and provoke.

Stockholm Design Lab has been working with the project since 2009 and started by developing a whole brand platform for the new musuem. The ambition is to create a new smart cultural institution on the same level as the most prominent ones in Stockholm. The project consists of naming, brand identity including everything from signage program, restaurant menues and books to physical environments and communication. The identity is based on the content in the museum – transparency, liquid, history – spirit. The shape of the building forms the symbol of the museum – a cocktail glass. Cheers!

    Design for Japanese Brain

The Japanese Magazine Brain invited SDL to design the cover for June 2012 issue.

The theme Cherry Pink was interpreted by a photograph of a sample neon sign made for Moderna Museet in Stockholm. The unique typeface is called MM Gridnik and is a special version of Wim Crouwells original typeface from the 1960s. It consists of two words JA (yes) and NEJ (no). We stare at these words everyday and believe its what design boils down to. To make decisions. For yourself and for your clients.
