Hästens Beds has been in business since 1852. The chequered bed was introduced in 1979 and marked the change from being a small bed supplier to become one of the most well known brands in Sweden.
The challenge for Stockholm Design Lab has been to create tools enabling Hästens to become an international brand for healthy bedroom products. To add a softer, more irrational tone to the brand without forgetting Hästens basic arguments- nature and quality.
The assignment includes: corporate identity program, retail concept including architecture, packaging design for accessories, interior design and a merchandising concept, product development for beds, accessories and bed linen.
