Swedese

Swedese is a classic Swedish furniture producer founded in 1945 by the Engström brothers, Jerker and Yngve. The company is equally at home in the public and domestic domains. Yngve was at the core of a generation of designers, including illustrious names like Alvar Aalto and Bruno Mathsson, who established a worldwide reputation for the concept of  ”Scandinavian Modern”.

Swedese has always embraced the ideal of creating beautiful and forward-looking furniture designs embodying the principles and traditions of Scandinavian modern.

Stockholm Design Lab captured the essence of this spirit when assigned to modernize the visual identity of the company. New ways of presenting the products were created, in environments that conveyed the metaphysical rather than practical aspects of owning the furniture.
