New client: Hansot
We are extremely proud and excited to say 여보세요 and welcome to our new client Hansot, Korea’s number 1 dosirak take-out restaurant company in Korea.
Hansot introduced the ’take-away’ concept to Seoul and Korea already back in 1993 when its first 26m2 restaurant was opened, and has since then grown to franchise approximately 700 restaurants and established itself as a leader in Korean food culture and in the rapidly growing HMR (Home Meal Replacement) market. HMR is a substitute to Ready-to-Eat or Ready-to-Cook meals for traditional home-cooked meals and is due to demographic changes seeing vast growth and the competition is intense. Korea’s annual dosirak market size is approximately worth staggering KWN 2,000,000,000,000 / SEK 15,000,000,000.
Hansot’s successful strategy has been to offer dosiraks at low prices using high-quality ingredients, and with a ’Good hearted management’ approach Hansot has built trust with its franchisees to the degree that 1/3 of them operate for more than 10 years and some are even handed down to the next generation.
SDL are working holistically with strategy and design on an ambitious brand transition programme for Hansot. We can’t wait to tell you more and present our work in the new year.

We have had the pleasure visualising the remastering of TED GÄRDESTAD, one of Swedens most acclaimed recording artists. The music is recomposed by Norrköpings symphony orchestra and conducted by Peter Nordahl.

Silver Egg for Market Art Fair
Our work for Market Art Fair was awarded a Silver Egg at the annual Golden Egg awards hosted by the Swedish Association of Communication Agencies. The competition was first arranged in 1961 and is today Sweden’s oldest, largest and most prestigious award for the communication industry.

The 12th edition of Market Art Fair. A success.
Congratulations to our client Market Art Fair on another successful edition. The 12th of Market Art Fair opened to the public on Friday 24 March at Färgfabriken in Stockholm. Represented at the fair were 31 of the most prominent galleries from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. With the results in hand we are happy to conclude that this edition of Market Art Fair appears to have been one of the most successful yet. With an overall record number of visitors as well as record sales for many of the participating galleries.

Greg Brown joins the Lab
Greg Brown joins the Lab as Digital Director. Working professionally since the late nineties, Greg brings experience from a variety of design, brand strategy and communication fields. With a focus on interaction, UX and experience design, he has worked with agencies in both Sweden and UK with clients such as the BBC, adidas, H&M, Toyota, Orange, BMW and IKEA. More recently he’s been working with IoT and wearables for startups and global brands.
