Branding a provocative and playful institution

    Since Norrlandsoperan was founded in 1974 it has grown from a regional opera ensemble into a leading centre for performing arts in the north of Sweden. By using the initials of the name (N and O) as the logotype, SDL created a bold and memorable identity that unifies the broad range of activities the centre offers today; opera ensemble, symphony orchestra, dance and music departments and a contemporary art gallery.

    The identity is both provocative and playful, reflecting Norrlandsoperans vision to provide a venue for new artistic expressions and their strive to be both traditional and groundbreaking in its work.
