Greg Brown joins the Lab

Greg Brown joins the Lab as Digital Director. Working professionally since the late nineties, Greg brings experience from a variety of design, brand strategy and communication fields. With a focus on interaction, UX and experience design, he has worked with agencies in both Sweden and UK with clients such as the BBC, adidas, H&M, Toyota, Orange, BMW and IKEA. More recently he’s been working with IoT and wearables for startups and global brands.

Björn Kusoffsky is invited to China for a week-long tour, starting November 27th, to give lectures and workshops in Shanghai, Nanjing and Shenzhen. MindTalk, the creative equivalent to TedTalks, is curated by TOPYS.

SAS becomes first Airline in Scandinavia to operate the world’s most fuel efficient single aisle aircraft

This week SAS is launching its new aircraft with SDL´s aircraft livery design – the Airbus A320neo in SAS’ short- and medium-haul fleet. New technology allows SAS’ climate impact to be further reduced. The A320neo is 15% more fuel efficient than today’s A320.

Insomnia at Bonniers Konsthall

Bonniers Konsthall has opened its second exhibition, Insomnia, since the debut of their new identity and gallery space created by SDL and Marge. Insomnia discusses sleeplessness as a cultural symptom. It’s open till 22nd of January 2017.

Communication Design 2016 for the Askul product packaging series. This award stands for the best international campaigns, marketing strategies and communication solutions. The Red Dot Award is one of the largest and most prestigious international competitions in Design.

Eurovision 2000

There is a Eurovision craze at the moment in Stockholm which reminds us of our odd project 16 years ago.

The Eurovision Song Contest Stockholm 2000. SDL was in charge of the Creative platform, graphic design, program and creative direction. One ambition was to capture the soul of Europe broadcasted to 100 million viewers with a film shown during the voting interval. Take a look

A-TO-B awarded a Silver Egg

Our work for A-TO-B was awarded a Silver Egg last night at the annual Golden Egg awards hosted by the Swedish Association of Communication Agencies. The completion was first arranged in 1961 and is today Sweden’s oldest, largest and most prestigious competition for the communication industry.

We are happy to welcome Slam as a new client. The Italian company was founded in Genoa in 1979, today it's a true icon for sailing enthusiasts around the world looking for high quality technical sailing gear. The company is currently going through a vast transformation by a new passionate management team to bring Slam back to its sailing roots – after years of drifting aimlessly. SDL have been tasked to help reinvigorate the brand and develop a new identity to allow the company achieve its ambitious goals.

Why 30 percent of Europe’s delivery trucks are empty

Together with Farewell we made a new film. 'Why 30 percent of Europe’s delivery trucks are empty' address the issue that today, in Europe alone, 35 billion km are driven by delivery trucks with nothing in. Logistics is big business, the road freight sector alone is valued to a staggering $2.2 trillion. And it’s growing, by almost 5% each year. Worryingly, so are its problems. We looked to football and to the stars to try and explain the ungraspable numbers, and to suggest a solution to this growing problem.

SDL is honoured to be featured in Design Solution, Swedish Design for 170 Years Exhibition hosted by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government and curated by Svensk For. Join us at Warehouse No.1 in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park from March 12th to April 10th. Design Solution, Swedish Design for 170 Years Exhibition takes “Design Solution” as the theme while echoing with the core idea of the 2016 Taipei Design Capital, which is adapting “design thinking” in solving social issues. The exhibit will be divided into three categories; from 170 years of Swedish design development, visitors will explore Swedish design aspects that are the closest to social pulsation and finally see how design becomes the solution to social issues.

We're really excited to start working with our new client Bonniers Konsthall on developing the art centre's new holistic visual identity system. The new identity work is to coincide with the Bonniers Konsthall's 10-year anniversary and re-launch early 2016. The privately funded art centre is located in central Stockholm and is a dynamic place bringing together Swedish and international contemporary art.
