    Hot Rod
    Cultural magazine, Norway

Hot Rod Art & Style magazine, issues 22–31 Art direction and design together with editor and founder Jan Walaker. With the motto “Trend is for now – love is forever”, the art and style magazine Hot Rod was produced intuitively, with a flexible structure. Featured artists included Charlie White, Paul McCarthy, Tova Mozard, Kenneth Anger and photographers Richard Dumas, Hedi Slimane and Mick Rock. Issue 22 consisted solely of blown up closeups of Lou Reed’s Transformer album. Hot Rod 31 became a magazine as well as a concert programme for Antony and the Johnsons’ World tour “Turning”. A trip to Tokyo resulted in 32 pages of Japanese toys, 8 pages of a white collage printed with high-gloss varnish on white and 16 pages by Japanese artist Keichi Tanaami. The ambitious project of reconstructing the classic drum sets of Lars Ulrich, Ringo Starr, John Bonham and Billy Cobham was featured in the David Bowie issue. Still images from the video Life on Mars by Mick Rock were also featured.
